2005 Year End Celebration hosted by Minishorts

Okay, this post is a little late considering we are all already in preparation to usher in the Chinese New Year... =D I have been lazy with the photo editing. Anyway, it was kinda small reunion with UPM mates (or rather AIESEC mates). It was nice again to meet up with all of them. Everyone still as crazy as before and I thought that workplace would change them. Nah, we're still a bunch of small boys and girls. Anyway, the party is at Minishorts' house (I shouldn't address her full name in here, should I ;D)

December babies... it's amazing how economical birthdays can get these days. You celebrate all birthdays at once. Guess how much I paid for that cake? RM1!


Since it was right after Christmas, we sang some Christmas songs. It was okay-lah... If only everyone else (beside these 4 ladies here and mike-banging minishorts) was singing together.

8TV 2nd Anniversary Birthday Bash at 1 Utama

I spent my entire Saturday afternoon at 1 Utama to witness 8TV's 2nd Birthday Bash. What got me excited was the fact that 8TV's personalities and stars from Malaysian Idol would be there. Okay, I admit - I am a big fan of Marion and I wanted to meet her in person; just her really. I did! Just three words to describe her - 'Down To Earth'. Malaysian's Most Beautiful top 3 was also present but that was secondary. I didn't think any of them is Beautiful; in any way at all. We were also introduced to cast from a new local production called 'KL Lights'. All in all, I had a great time and I had ample opportunities to sharpen up my photography skills.

Phat Fabes and Rina fooling around on stage. Although not as popular as Adam and Marion but nevertheless a perfect match. Both of them have a chemistry that makes Quickie fun to watch!

Host of Reel Reviews, Naz is one of the cast from the new local production - KL Lights which is to be aired on 8TV from February 12th...

While the 'Pinkies' (supposedly Daniel's fans) were already crowding up the place, we were served 2 songs by each of the Malaysian Idol finalists both from Season 1 and Season 2. I have only seen them on TV and is quite exciting seeing them singing live for the first time.


Victor from Malaysia Idol 1 sang 2 songs and it was honestly, beautifully rendered... and sometimes I wonder why they did not perform as good while in competition.


Vic rendering a Jackie Cheung song... He has improved vocally but still quite nervous on stage (at least I sense it to be this way)


Dina displayed a powerful performance. Bravo!! Her voice is bold and strong. She even brought her own dancers and danced along with them. Talking about showmanship, Dina has it all!


Adam chatting up with the 3 finalists of 'Malaysia's Most Beautiful'... and I seriously hope and pray (and hope and pray) that none would vote for Jessie. She is a serious case of syiok sendiri and worse of all, extremely pretentious. Oh GAWD!!! Just vote her out!


I agree - Daniel has a Superstar appeal and his fan base is huge. However, he still stinks at singing. I don't think he is improving at all. His singing is still so pitchy. I know it's not easy for any stars performing in a huge crowd... but I doubt he feels the slightest pressure singing pretty badly (IMHO) in front of his Pinkies fans! Not as bad as William Hung but closing in FAST! Sorry to disappoint any Daniel fans but this is just my opinion. If this was a"Good Looks and Has Superstar Appeal" competition, I would definitely vote for him. Too bad it's not...

Photog Entry: Portrait Capture 5

I was asked by a friend of mine to capture some portraits for her to be submitted for a singing competition. Only 2 pictures were required. Since she has already her makeup up and fully dressed up, why waste it? =D It was a 2 hour photoshoot. Shots taken mainly with a 50mm at f/2.0 with occasional shots with a 18-70mm.

She seem a little awkward during posing as she's not experienced. Hence, some photos turned out to be very stiff. However, she is very photogenic and with a few more practices, I think I can squeeze out a more natural her...
